The West Indies team is currently playing a 5-match ODI series against New Zealand at home, in which they had announced the first squad for the first three matches. Now after trailing 2-1 in this series, host West Indies has made changes in its squad for the last two ODI matches. Cricket West Indies has included all-rounder Justin Greaves and top-order batsman Brandon King for the last two matches against New Zealand. Both have got a place in the squad due to Roston Chase and John Campbell being out with injuries.
Chase already injured, Campbell unfit in third ODI
Before the start of the ODI series against New Zealand, the West Indies team played the second match of the Test series against Sri Lanka at home in the beginning of July, in which their important player Roston Chase injured the finger of his right hand, due to which he has not been able to fully recover yet. Talking about John Campbell, he suffered an injury in the hamstring of his left leg while batting in the third ODI against New Zealand, after which a scan is yet to be done so that it can be known for how long he will remain out of the field.
Greaves will return after back injury
If we talk about Justin Greaves, who has been included in the West Indies squad for the last two matches of this five-match ODI series, he himself will return after fully recovering from the back injury due to which he could not play the first three matches. Khary Pierre, who was included in the first three matches of this series, will now return to his home, apart from this, all-rounder Shamar Springer is also not a part of the 15-member team, because he had already withdrawn from this series after the death of his mother.
