Rishabh Pant: The losing streak of Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2026 is not showing any signs of stopping. Lucknow has faced another crushing defeat at home. In the 32nd match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow by 40 runs. For Lucknow Super Giants, Mitchell Marsh made the maximum contribution of 55 runs in 41 balls. However, he did not get anyone’s support from the other end. For Royals, Joffra Archer took three wickets, while Nandre Berger and Brijesh Sharma took two wickets each.
Lucknow team could not even achieve the modest target of 160 runs and collapsed for just 119 runs. The team could not even play the full 20 overs. This is Lucknow’s 7th consecutive defeat at home. Not only this, Pant’s team has faced its fourth consecutive defeat this season.
Pant has no answer
After suffering another crushing defeat in IPL 2026, captain Rishabh Pant cursed the team’s batsmen fiercely. He said he had no answer. Our batting has disappointed us. As a team, as a group we are disappointed. You have to find the answers within yourself, not outside. We could have taken a little more time while batting. There is no excuse for this. By adding them ourselves, we could have taken the match further. As a batting group we have to take responsibility.
Pant further said that if we talk about bowling, we have to see some positive things in it. We have to keep our heads high and find the answers within ourselves. He is confident that our bowling and batting are strong and we can still turn the tables.
Face KKR on 26th April
It is noteworthy that in IPL 2026, Lucknow Super Giants is at 9th position in the points table. This is Lucknow’s 5th defeat in 7 matches. The team has been able to register only wins so far. LSG will now play its next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 26 April.
