After the fatal attack on actor Tiger Shroff, Lawrence Bishnoi gang is once again in the news. Anil Pandit, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken the responsibility of the attack on Tiger. Now the members of this gang, their working methods and means of earning etc. are being discussed. Let us tell you that Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. However, his name is coming up again and again in many crime incidents. Now former IPS officer PK Jain has shared big information about Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The gang started growing after 2010

Former IPS PK Jain said that the network of Lawrence Bishnoi gang started growing after 2010. Lawrence Bishnoi was born in 1993. He started getting involved in criminal activities since his school and college days. Even during student politics, seven cases like murder, assault and extortion were registered against him. Later, he expanded his gang with Goldie Brar. According to the information, Henchmen of Lawrence Bishnoi gang are lodged in 50 jails of Maharashtra.

How many members are there in the gang, how is the earning done?

According to former IPS PK Jain, Lawrence Bishnoi gang started earning money by extorting rich people in countries like Canada and UAE. Later these people also got involved in the drug business. The claim of having 70 thousand members of the gang does not seem correct, because it is not easy to operate such a large number. According to his estimate, there may be around 600 to 800 members in the gang. PK Jain said that it is necessary to investigate how the gang network is running despite Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi being in jail. It is feared that information and plans of the target might have been shared over phone or through people coming to meet them in jail.

How are members added?

Former IPS PK Jain said that the gang joins the youth living inside the jail and in the states of North India by luring them with money, name and fame. These youth are targeted and used to threaten and attack. The availability of indigenous weapons in North India and the possibility of weapons coming from Pakistan are also a matter of concern. He said that the modus operandi of the gang is to threaten, attack, extort and earn name and money through this. This trend increased after threatening Salman Khan in 2012. The gang’s name has come up in cases like firing outside Salman Khan’s house, attack on Kapil Sharma’s cafe, threat to Rohit Shetty, attack on Tiger Shroff and murder of Baba Siddiqui.

How will Lawrence Bishnoi gang come under control?

According to PK Jain, if the Maharashtra government wants, it can go to Sabarmati jail and interrogate Lawrence Bishnoi. After the murder of Baba Siddiqui, Maharashtra Police had tried to take his custody, but this was not possible due to some rules of the Centre. He said that to control the gang, it is necessary to break its communication network. A strict law like MCOCA was brought in Maharashtra to control the underworld. The fear of such laws reduced the youth’s involvement in gangs, as they feared being in jail for a long time. There is a need to take similar strict steps and the police of all the states and central agencies should act together.
