Mumbai: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has described India as a powerful and influential nation. It is noteworthy that America’s Foreign Minister Marco Rubio is currently in Mumbai. He is visiting India for the second time in three months. Today Marco Rubio met India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
After this, Marco Rubio told that the trade deal between India and America is in the final phase. Very soon it will be completed and announced. Marco Rubio said that consensus is yet to be reached on some issues but there have been positive talks regarding it. Rubio clearly said today that there may be differences between the two countries on some issues but it will not make any difference to the relations and trade deals between the two countries.

Marco Rubio clearly said that as far as the trade deal is concerned, it should be clear that the US State Department does not negotiate trade deals but it is fully involved in whatever is happening. Both the countries have come very close to the agreement. Soon it will be finalized and some good news will come out very soon.
After this, Marco Rubio described India as a “refining superpower”, praised Reliance Industries and said that India’s role is going to be most important in meeting the energy demands. Actually tomorrow Marco Rubio will go to Jamnagar, Gujarat. Will visit the refinery of Reliance Industries Limited. These refineries are the largest single-location refinery complexes in the world. Today the US Secretary of State said Washington will discuss further refining of Venezuelan crude with Reliance Industries.
Marco Rubio said that the US delegation will discuss with Reliance about oil production in Venezuela. India has experience of purchasing oil from different places, hence talks will be held towards refining oil together with India. This would be a wise step for both the countries.
Today Jaishankar also met UAE counterpart
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also met the UAE counterpart today. UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has also reached Mumbai. Today there was discussion between the two leaders on the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
Jaishankar emphasized India’s efforts to establish peace in the Gulf region. He also expressed his gratitude to UAE that it is taking care of the safety of Indians living there. Especially amid the increasing tension after the recent Houthi attacks.
Jaishankar said that the situation that has arisen in the Gulf region is a matter of concern. India will try to find a solution with UEA.
