Rajat Sharma’s blog: What advice did Amit Shah give to Rahul?

5 Min Read

Home Minister Amit Shah gave a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi. Amit Shah’s statement came for the first time after the protests going on in Delhi for the last 8 days. Amit Shah advised Rahul Gandhi that instead of linking the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with SIR, he should introspect. Amit Shah told how Congress could not win a single election in Gujarat for the last 41 years. Amit Shah said that in 2029 also BJP and NDA will win under the leadership of Modi and Rahul Gandhi should make up his mind about defeat from now on.

The results of local body elections in Gujarat prove one thing that Rahul Gandhi’s campaign had no impact on the ground. Elections are the measure of popularity of any leader or party. It does not matter how many reels are made against him, what kind of campaign is run on social media. BJP’s unilateral victory in Amit Shah’s parliamentary constituency Gandhinagar is proof that Narendra Modi’s popularity remains intact.

Similar results were reported in Assam and West Bengal last week. The result of elections is more authentic proof than the internal assessment of any political party or any opinion poll. What could be a bigger proof than this in democracy? Amit Shah gave many such proofs, enumerated those states where Congress could not win elections for 30-30 years, 40-40 years. There was no Gyanesh Kumar there then. Amit Shah was right that the noise of a crowd of 8000 cannot change the ground reality.

What did Piyush Goyal remind Congress?

But Rahul Gandhi is engrossed in his own tune. Once again Rahul held a meeting with the leaders of India Block. It was decided that the war against Gyanesh Kumar and SIR will continue. Rahul Gandhi said that no matter how much time it takes, he will continue the front against Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Gyanesh Kumar and Mohan Bhagwat. In response, Union Minister Piyush Goyal asked 10 questions to Rahul. Piyush Goyal told how Congress during its time made one Chief Election Commissioner the Governor, made another CEC a Cabinet Minister, gave party ticket to the third Chief Election Commissioner, but today Rahul Gandhi is covering up the misdeeds of the Congress regime.

BJP has now changed its strategy to answer Rahul. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi used to blame the Election Commission and indirectly corner the BJP, but the big leaders of BJP remained silent, thinking that if they answer Rahul, they will be seen advocating the Election Commission. But for the last three-four days, big leaders of BJP are now giving point wise answers to Rahul Gandhi. Piyush Goyal exposed the double standards of Congress.

When Rahul Gandhi accused Gyanesh Kumar of helping BJP, Piyush Goyal listed the names of Chief Election Commissioners like TN Seshan, Naveen Chawla and MS Gill, whom Congress made contest elections, made ministers and governors. Piyush Goyal also listed the names of those Congress leaders who had demanded SIR and also asked that if Rahul Gandhi has evidence of ‘vote theft’ then why does he not give it to the court? In fact, it would have been good if there had been a debate on all such issues in the Parliament, but Rahul Gandhi, as a deliberate strategy, did not allow the Parliament to function, otherwise every question related to the Election Commission would have been answered.
