Many states of the country including North India are experiencing severe heat. Temperatures are being recorded at record levels during the day. The wrath of extreme heat is now visible on schools. In view of heat wave and heat during the day, orders to close schools have been issued in many states and districts. Due to the heat in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, DM has announced holidays in all schools from May 22. DM of Lucknow has ordered to strictly implement the rule.
Schools closed till class 8 in Lucknow
In view of the scorching heat and heatwave in Lucknow as well as Kanpur, the district administration has taken a big decision. The administration is on alert after the warning from the Meteorological Department. Holidays have been declared in all schools from pre-primary to class 8.
Summer vacation in Kanpur till 31st May
The order has been implemented on all the educational board schools of Kanpur district. According to the order, there will be summer vacation till 31 May 2026. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the health safety of the students. Instructions have been given to all concerned officials to ensure compliance.
Schools from class 9 to 12 also closed in Kanpur
Along with this, Kanpur district administration has declared summer vacation in all the schools from class 9 to 12. Keeping in mind the health and safety of the students, holidays have been declared in the schools run by all the educational boards of the district with immediate effect till May 28, 2026. The administration has instructed all concerned officials and school management to ensure strict compliance with the order.
Announcement of closure of schools in Haryana
The Haryana government on Wednesday announced summer vacation in all schools from May 25 to June 30 amid the scorching heat. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini took this decision in view of the scorching heat that has been going on for the last few days. The maximum temperature has reached close to 45 degrees Celsius at many places in the state.
In 2024 too, there was severe heat in Haryana at the end of May and the state government at that time had announced summer holidays for all government and private schools from May 28 to June 30. Most schools in Haryana usually remain closed for summer vacations between June 1 and June 30.
Schools closed till class 5 in Patna
In Bihar’s capital Patna, schools up to class 5th have been closed due to scorching heat and heatwave. This school will be applicable from May 22 to May 26. School timings for classes 6 to 8 have been changed.
