Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the ‘Bhajan Clubbing’ program organized at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park in New Delhi on Friday. This program was organized on the occasion of the 110th birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jan Sangh leader and BJP ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. During the devotional concert, PM Modi was sitting in the audience and was seen singing Ram Bhajan songs along with the artists and clapped.
PM Modi also played a small instrument like a tambourine during a bhajan dedicated to Lord Ram. The audience included a large number of youth, who were cheering the singers by clapping and singing along. The Prime Minister also greeted the people by shaking hands when he reached the venue. Earlier, he paid tribute to Deendayal Upadhyay and talked about his philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’.
what is bhajan clubbing
‘Bhajan clubbing’ refers to a concert-like atmosphere in which devotional music programs are organized and especially youth come together to sing and listen to bhajans. Bhajan clubbing often features live bands, modern musical arrangements, lighting and an energetic atmosphere. In this enthusiastic atmosphere, everyone sings hymns and dances together. Unlike typical club events, these programs focus on devotional music. Presenting traditional bhajans and kirtans in a modern style, such programs have gained immense popularity among the young audience, especially ‘Gen Z’.
PM Modi had mentioned in Mann Ki Baat
Prime Minister Modi had talked about the bhajan clubbing trend in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program earlier this year. He had said that the increasing interest among the youth is a mixed form of spirituality, culture and modernity. He also compared the atmosphere of such programs to a global concert. Since then, this trend has been seen in events held in many cities of India, including events organized for youth in Delhi.
