Datia by-election has become a tough task for the BJP, which is running the government with a huge majority in Madhya Pradesh. BJP has canceled the ticket of Narottam Mishra for Datia by-election and in his place has given ticket to Ashutosh Tiwari from this seat. Angered by the cancellation of Narottam Mishra’s ticket, his supporters created a ruckus in Datia throughout the night. Supporters captured the BJP office in Datia. The workers slept here like this throughout the night, the rooms till the terrace are filled with supporters of Narottam Mishra. Hundreds of workers and officials including the Datia BJP President have resigned. He is saying that if Narottam Mishra had been given the ticket, he would have got the Congress candidate’s deposit confiscated.
Congress has given ticket to Ghanshyam Singh
After this, today Congress has fielded Ghanshyam Singh to challenge Ashutosh Tiwari in Datia by-election. However, it is not that BJP has never cut the ticket of any leader. BJP has canceled the tickets of sitting MP and MLA many times. Supporters of Narottam Mishra are claiming that now BJP’s deposit on this seat will be forfeited.
Why the uproar over Narottam Mishra’s ticket being canceled?
Narottam Mishra has been MLA from Datia three times. In the year 2023, he had to face defeat at the hands of Rajendra Bharti of Congress. But despite the defeat, Narottam Mishra’s coin still prevails in Datia. While being the MLA of Datia, he has handled the work of Home Minister in Shivraj Singh government. Apart from this, Narottam Mishra has also been the minister of heavy departments like Parliamentary Affairs and Law. Narottam Mishra’s supporters consider him a contender for the post of Chief Minister. BJP did not even consider Narottam Mishra worthy of the ticket in Datia by-election. BJP has placed its bet on Ashutosh Tiwari here and in protest against this, Narottam Mishra’s supporters started creating ruckus.

Madhya Pradesh government minister and senior BJP leader in the state Kailash Vijayvargiya is saying that everything will be fine in a day or two. Kailash Vijayvargiya is saying that there is no tradition in BJP to change the candidate once the ticket is given. But yesterday BJP changed its candidate from Bankipur seat of Bihar and gave ticket to Neeraj Sinha in place of Abhishek Sinha. Narottam Mishra’s supporters are now showing the same list released by the party and saying that in the press release in which their leader’s ticket was cut, the party changed its candidate in Bankipur. If the candidate can be changed in Bakipur then why not in Datia.

Will BJP convince Narottam Mishra?
Narottam Mishra did not condemn the violence committed by his supporters anywhere in his entire statement.. He is just saying that when he goes to Datia, he will explain to the supporters. Here his supporters have understood what the leader is trying to explain…he is saying that the official candidate of the party will be boycotted. Generally, the candidate of the ruling party wins the by-election and it is possible that BJP may somehow convince Narottam Mishra. To handle this internal impasse in BJP and do damage control, the state president said, ‘Narottam Mishra is a very senior and respected leader of our party. We will win this Datia by-election with an overwhelming majority under his guidance and leadership.
