NEET-UG Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a press conference regarding the paper leak. He said that NTA has announced the new date of NEET UG. Its examination was held on 3rd May, on 7th May it was revealed that there are some similar connections in the guess paper. After this, within 2-3 days it became clear that questions had been leaked through the guess paper. We immediately discussed and handed over the case to the investigating agencies and also contacted the state agencies. We canceled the exam on the 12th. We accept our responsibility and are finding a way for a solution.

Re-examination on 21st June

Dharmendra Pradhan said that we have come with a new date today. The examination will be conducted again after about a month from today. Our approach this time too will be of zero tolerance. Our fight is with the examination mafia. Misleading facts are being put out from various social media handles, attempts are being made to mislead. In such a situation, the government immediately handed over the investigation to the CBI. This time CBI will go to the bottom of the case. The agencies are taking seriously where mistakes have happened. Whatever terrorists are roaming around, they should stay away from it in the next exam otherwise they will have to face punishment.

There will be no financial burden on students

He further said that we are very saddened by this incident, but keeping in mind a larger objective, we had to take this tough decision, so that injustice is not done to the students. I would tell the students to give the exam without any fear. It is our responsibility to have zero-error in NTA and we will continue to do so. NTA conducts exams for one crore children every year. We take responsibility to ensure that there is no financial burden on the students. No fee will be charged for re-exam. NTA has decided that we will give one week time to the students to choose the city of their choice to take the exam.

Big announcements for candidates

While making big announcements related to the examination, Dharmendra Pradhan said that time is wasted due to the formalities involved in the examination, for this an additional time of 15 minutes will be given. Students will be given time from 2 pm to 5.15 pm for the re-conducted examination. Admit card will reach everyone by June 14. On behalf of the Government of India, we will talk so that this time the burden of transportation of students can be reduced at the time of NEET examination. We will also make arrangements for what to do if the weather is bad. Students should not pay attention to any rumour. Even after fully following the Radhakrishnan Committee, there have been mistakes, we take the responsibility of correcting them. From next year, NEET exam will be conducted on computer.
