The Special Cell of Delhi Police, in coordination with the CBI and the agencies of Azerbaijan, has brought back absconding accused Prabhdeep Singh, associated with a big international drug syndicate, from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to India. The accused was absconding for a long time and 358 kg of heroin was recovered in the case registered against him under the NDPS Act.
In fact, on May 13, 2026, a three-member team of Special Cell reached India with ACP Vivek Tyagi, Inspector Sanjay Gupta and Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar-Prabhdeep Singh. The accused has been arrested in FIR No. 172/21 registered in 2021. This case was registered in the Special Cell police station under sections 21, 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Who is Prabhdeep Singh?
According to the investigating agencies, Prabhdeep Singh used to handle the India-based network of drug mafia based abroad, Navpreet Singh alias “Nav”. Navpreet Singh’s last location is said to be Türkiye. Both are cousins. According to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, Prabhdeep used to deliver Navpreet’s orders to the accused present in India. Prabhdeep also used to give instructions to the accused Gurpreet Singh and Gurjot Singh who were caught with 333 kg heroin. He kept an eye on the movement of the drug consignment and was in constant touch with other members of the syndicate.
Now the agencies will interrogate him and gather information about the entire international drug network, funding and foreign connections.
This is how the whole matter was revealed
In the year 2021, Delhi Police had received information that Rizwan Ahmed alias Rizwan Kashmiri was smuggling drugs on a large scale in Delhi including Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. On July 5, 2021, the Special Cell received information that Rizwan was going to supply heroin in Ghitorni area of South Delhi. After which the police laid a trap and arrested him. 1 kg heroin was recovered from him.
During interrogation, Rizwan revealed that he used to work on the instructions of Isha Khan, an Afghan citizen sitting in Afghanistan. It was Isha Khan who had asked him to contact Gurpreet Singh and Gurjot Singh, residents of Punjab, who were running a drug racket from Faridabad, Haryana. After this, the police raided Faridabad and arrested Gurpreet and Gurjot.
358 kg heroin recovered
During the investigation, the police identified the accused-
- 166 kg heroin from Hyundai Verna car
- 115 kg heroin from Honda Amaze car
- And recovered 70 kg of heroin/psychotropic substance from the rented flat.
Apart from this, Afghan citizen Hazrat Ali was arrested from Gurugram, from whom 2 kg of heroin and about 100 kg of chemicals which are used in preparing drugs were found.
Drug network was started in jail
Investigation also revealed that accused Gurpreet Singh had met Navpreet Singh alias Nav in Kapurthala jail of Punjab. Both were already in jail in separate NDPS cases. From there the foundation of this international drug network was laid.
11 accused arrested so far in the case
So far 11 accused have been arrested in this case, including an Afghan citizen. Trial is going on in the court against everyone.
