PM Modi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung hold meeting at Hyderabad House, emphasis on strengthening bilateral relations

New Delhi: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who is on India tour, had a special meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu on Monday. The President and the Prime Minister gave a grand welcome to Lee Jae-myung in the national capital. A formal welcome ceremony was organized for him on Monday in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. After this, a bilateral meeting was held between PM Modi and Lee Jae-myung at Hyderabad House in the capital. During this, a message was given to further strengthen the special strategic partnership between the two countries. With this visit of Lee Jae-myung, the strategic partnership between India and South Korea is now moving towards a new level.

Foreign Ministry posted

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on social media, “Taking forward the India-South Korea Special Strategic Partnership!” At the ceremony, President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi welcomed South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in a traditional manner. This grand event organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan underlined the deep friendly relations between the two countries.

South Korea became India’s strategic partner in 2010

The Special Strategic Partnership between India and South Korea began in the year 2010. Under this, both the countries are increasing cooperation in defence, trade, technology, semiconductors, batteries, cyber security and Indo-Pacific region. South Korea is India’s major trading partner. Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeds approximately $30 billion. India is becoming an important investment destination for South Korean companies. President Lee Jae-myung’s visit to India comes at a time when both the countries are paying special attention to regional security, economic cooperation and strengthening supply chains.

There will be high level talks between the two leaders

During this visit, high-level talks are expected between the two leaders, in which issues like trade, defense cooperation, technology transfer and peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific will be discussed. The welcome ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan is a symbol of the deep friendship between the two countries and the ties that will strengthen in the future.


South Korea’s President posted a special video after entering India’s airspace

After entering India’s airspace, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung posted a special video made from the ship itself. In which he wrote, “India is the most populous and extremely fast developing country in the world. If you look carefully, there are many such things between the two countries which are beneficial for both, without any coercion or use of force. Let us build a wonderful future together with India, which loves peace and democracy. I will return after handling everything well.”
