Scorching heat is coming, Rajasthan will be affected first, Meteorological Department’s advice – ‘Do not go out in the afternoon’

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding intense heat in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has said that the temperature is going to increase rapidly in the coming days in North and Central India. The biggest and fastest impact will be in Rajasthan. At the same time, the effect of heat will be seen heavily in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in North-West India may increase by 6-8 degrees.

The weather department issued an alert saying that the heat is going to increase. Areas where temperatures are expected to rise rapidly include (North-West India 6–8°C), (East India 5–7°C) and (Central India 3–5°C) India. IMD said that the temperature is likely to be above normal in the coming days. In such a situation, stay hydrated, avoid bright sunlight and take care of yourself.

Where and how much will the mercury rise?

• No significant weather activity is likely over northwest, central and eastern India during the next one week.
• Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 6-8 degrees Celsius over northwest India, by 5-7 degrees Celsius over eastern India and by 3-5 degrees Celsius over central India. As a result, the maximum temperatures in these areas are likely to be above normal after 2 days.
• There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 6-8 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures over northwest India during April 10 to 16.
• There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 3-5 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in Central India till 14th April and there will be no significant change on 15th and 16th April.
• There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 5-7 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature over East India till 14th April and there will be no significant change on 15th and 16th April.
• There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 2-4 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in the state of Gujarat till 13th April and there will be no significant change during 14th to 16th April.
• There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in Maharashtra till 14th April and there will be no significant change on 15th and 16th April.

Crops damaged in 2.49 lakh hectares due to unseasonal rains

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Friday that unseasonal rain and hailstorm have so far damaged Rabi crops standing in 2.49 lakh hectares, in which wheat cultivation has been affected the most. The Union Agriculture Minister had on April 5 directed officials to review the losses in the affected states and coordinate with state governments. The IMD has predicted more rainfall from April 9-15 due to the western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, cyclonic circulation and associated trough over Uttar Pradesh, Bangladesh, Assam and Odisha.
