Ingredients for making Dumplings
Wheat flour – 2 cups, Jaggery – 3/4 cup, Fennel – 1 tbsp, Cardamom – 1/2 tsp, Baking soda – 2 pinches, Cooking oil for frying
How to make Gulgula
- First step: To make wheat flour dumpling, first take 3/4 cup jaggery and place it in a pan, turn on the gas and melt it well.
- Second step: When the jaggery melts, add half a cup of water to it and stir well once again. When it becomes slightly thick then turn off the gas.
- Third step: Now, take out 2 cups of wheat flour in a large plate and add jaggery water to it. Keep in mind that the jaggery water should be cold. Now rub it and mix it well with flour. To make the batter, keep in mind that do not add water all at once. Add water little by little
- Fourth step: Add water little by little into it. Let us tell you that its batter should be like the batter of Idli or Dosa. When the batter becomes completely smooth, add fennel and cardamom powder and mix. It should become very puffy, so now add soda in it. After adding soda, keep this batter covered for fifteen to twenty minutes.
- Fifth step: Now pour oil in a pan and when it becomes completely hot, add the batter little by little and deep fry it well on medium flame. Your Gulgula is ready. Serve it hot.
