The most special thing about this dish is the aroma coming from it and its amazing texture. You can make this halwa at home using very few ingredients. Material

  • 1 cup chana dal
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 spoons ghee
  • 3 tsp sugar or as per taste
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 5 almonds chopped or grated

method of making

  1. To make chana dal halwa, wash it thoroughly and boil it. When the lentils boil, drain the water, grind it and make a smooth paste.
  2. Now take a pan and add some ghee in it. When ghee starts smoking, add lentil paste to it and fry on low flame. When it is roasted well, add sugar and cardamom powder to it and mix well.
  3. Now add remaining ghee in it and keep mixing it. When ghee starts separating from the halwa and turns brown, add milk to it.
  4. Lastly, garnish it with almonds and serve hot.
