Chittaranjan Park (CR Park), often called the ‘mini Kolkata’ of the capital, is getting ready for Durga Puja. It is one of the biggest festivals of Bengalis. Artists are giving final touches to the idols and pandals. In such a situation, if you want to see the excitement of Durga Puja in South Delhi this year, then India TV is going to tell you about the themes and specialties of different pandals there.
If you are planning to go to CR Park by metro, then first visit GK 2 Durgotsav Pandal, which is just one kilometer away from Greater Kailash Metro Station. People coming here will feel patriotic because this year the theme of the pandal is ‘Vande Mataram’.

In its 51st year, the Co-operative Ground Durga Puja Committee is presenting the ‘rich jute heritage’ of Bengal through its pandal. “The entire pandal and various art forms are being made using jute and bamboo. Sahaj recitation of Rabindranath Tagore at Katyayani Trust, Alaknanda
Those who want to visit the pandal beyond CR Park can go to nearby Alaknanda and Govind Puri. This year, the pandal of Alaknanda’s Katyayani Trust will be based on the famous Bengali primer, ‘Sahaj Path’. According to Arnab Bhattacharya, Secretary, Katyayani Trust, “Our rich Bengali language and culture is gradually disappearing, and it is very difficult for the ‘migrant Bengali children’ to truly know their mother tongue. This ‘Sahaj Paath’ themed pandal is a humble attempt to re-discover the Bengal that time is slowly blurring, to rediscover its timeless beauty and pass on its spirit to the future generations Could.” Because some traditions are not just meant to be remembered, they are meant to be lived, cherished and lovingly passed on from one generation to the next.
How to reach CR Park
The nearest metro station to CR Park is Nehru Enclave (Magenta Line). Visitors can also easily reach CR Park from Greater Kailash Metro Station (Magenta Line) as per their entry point. Both the stations are 5-10 minutes away from the puja pandals, making it easy to commute during festival rush.
