On social media, Sanjay Gupta talked about the toughest days of his life and told how after the release of ‘Kaante’, he was dreaming of Hollywood and while dreaming of this, he reached the ICU.

‘Kaante’, released in December 2002, was the most successful film of Sanjay Gupta’s career. This film featured actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Kumar Gaurav, Mahesh Manjrekar, Lucky Ali and Malaika Arora. The film was released in theaters and received tremendous response from the audience. But, before he could celebrate the success of this film, he reached the hospital. Recalling that horrific day of his life, he said that he is living the life he got after this as his second chance.
Sanjay Gupta had an accident after the release of Kaante
Sanjay Gupta recently shared a post on X, in which he told how he met with a fatal accident after the release of Kaante. Referring to this incident, he wrote – ‘Consider yourself dead and then live whatever is left properly. I had an accident just after the release of Kaante. I was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where the doctors initially said that 72 hours were very critical. But I survived. As if a life had ended and whatever we got after that is a bonus. I live this life like a bonus.
Went on long leave to hospital
Recently while talking to ‘Wild Films India’, Sanjay Gupta had said – ‘During the holiday period I had an accident and I went on a long leave. I had worked very hard on the fork and was having trouble with the release. This was a big project for me. There were a lot of things to handle. Thought I would go on a long vacation after the release of the film. I was dreaming of going to Hollywood and I had an accident and then I went to the hospital on a long leave. I remained in ICU for 5 weeks.
