‘Drishyam 3’, one of the most awaited films of 2026, has been released in theaters on Thursday, May 21. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film chronicles the story of Mohanlal’s character George Kutty and his family. This film, released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages, is getting tremendous response from the audience watching it on the very first day. The craze among Mohanlal’s fans for ‘Drishyam 3’ is clearly visible in the film’s advance box office collection and first day’s earnings. According to initial estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned well on the first day.

According to trade website Sacnilk, ‘Drishyam 3’ collected a nett of Rs 10.56 crore from 5396 shows on its opening day in India. Out of this, Rs 9.11 crore was earned from Malayalam, Rs 0.36 crore from Tamil, Rs 0.96 crore from Telugu and Rs 0.13 crore from Kannada. The occupancy of the film stood at 50.5% on the opening day and it remains to be seen whether the collections pick up on Friday and weekend.

Talking about language-wise occupancy, ‘Drishyam 3’ recorded the highest Malayalam occupancy of 66% in 2,842 shows, followed by Tamil occupancy of 29% in 384 shows. Telugu occupancy stood at 20% across 1,268 shows, while Kannada recorded the lowest occupancy of 17% across 157 shows.

‘Drishyam 3’ is written and directed by Jeetu Joseph. It is produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Ashirwad Cinemas. In this, Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopi, Siddique and Asha Sharath will be seen in their old roles. The film continues the story of Drishyam and Drishyam 2.
