The protest to be held in Delhi on October 10 may also have an impact on the movement of railway passengers. Indian Railways has taken a big decision so that the passengers do not face any problem in reaching the railway stations and the situation like missing the train due to heavy traffic jam does not arise. According to the railway order, many mail and express trains arriving at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 am to 2 pm will be canceled from their originating station itself. In such a situation, if you have a train for Delhi today, then definitely check the status of your train before starting the journey.

Effect on October 10 from 4 am to 2 pm

Why was the decision taken to cancel trains?

According to the Railways, due to the proposed protest in Central Delhi on October 10, heavy traffic jam is expected on the roads around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations. In view of this, Railways has decided to cancel many mail and express trains reaching Delhi during this period from their originating stations. According to the Railways, even before this, passengers had to face problems due to demonstrations around New Delhi Railway Station and jam-like situation on the road. During that time, reportedly around 5,000 passengers could not reach the station on time and were left on the platform while the train had departed. Railways has already prepared a precautionary plan to ensure that a similar situation does not arise again.

What should passengers do?

If you have booked a ticket to come to Delhi on 9th or 10th October, then definitely check the status of your train before going to the station. Consider alternative travel arrangements in case of train cancellation. Train updates can be obtained from the official website of Railways, National Train Inquiry System (NTES) or Railway Helpline.
