There is news of great relief for travelers going to Canada. Air India is going to start non-stop (direct) flights between Delhi and Toronto from 1 August 2026. Now passengers will not have to stop midway to refuel, which will reduce the travel time by about 3 hours. Along with this, Air India is also increasing the number of flights on this route to daily basis, which will make travel between India and Canada easier and more convenient than ever.
Currently, Air India is operating its old Boeing 777 aircraft from Delhi to Toronto, which has to stop for refueling in Vienna, Austria. But from August 1, the airline will introduce a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on this route, which will not require fuel stops due to its long-haul capability.
Travel time will be reduced by 3 hours
According to Air India, currently the journey from Delhi to Toronto takes about 20 hours including fuel stops. After the start of the new service, this time will reduce to about 17 hours. At the same time, the return flight from Toronto to Delhi will be non-stop as before, whose time will be around 16 hours.
Now Delhi-Toronto flight will be available every day
Air India currently operates 5 flights a week on this route. But from August 1, passengers will get daily flight facility. The company had temporarily reduced the number of flights on this route during June and July due to increased fuel prices and global geopolitical conditions, which is now being increased again.
Premium facilities will be available in the new Dreamliner
The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to be deployed on the Delhi-Toronto route is equipped with modern facilities. It has 30 business class private suites, 28 premium economy seats and 238 economy class seats. This will provide passengers with a more comfortable and premium travel experience than before.
What did Air India say?
Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson said the company is rapidly inducting its new aircraft and modern cabin features on major international routes. According to him, the launch of the new Dreamliner on the Delhi-Toronto route will provide better facilities to passengers traveling between India and Canada and will also expand Air India’s premium services in North America.
