According to the report, Hyderabad Police Commissioner has asked people to be cautious about this scam and advised them to avoid it.

Fraud happening without disclosing OTP and password

According to Hyderabad Police, these days fraudsters are targeting people through this new type of scam. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned people that in this scam, without sharing OTP and clicking on the link, you can become a victim of cyber fraud. In such a situation, this new scam is quite dangerous. Due to one small mistake of yours, you can lose your entire life’s earnings.

How is WhatsApp ‘No’ scam?

Fraudsters are sent messages on WhatsApp from an international or unknown number. This message contains hidden links and malware, which gets activated as soon as you reply. Once the malware is activated, personal information from your phone can be stolen and bank accounts can be secretly drained. In this, scammers bypass the OTP and password and break into the account, so that people cannot find out.

In the message received on your WhatsApp, it is written that money has been deducted or debited from your account. If you have not done the transaction then reply ‘No’. By replying ‘No’ people give access to their phones to hackers. Then they become victims of cyber fraud.

How to avoid?

To avoid such scams, people should not entertain messages coming from any international or unknown number.

If you feel that this could be a scam, then immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930 and lodge a complaint. Apart from this, you can also report it through Sanchar Saathi app or website.

Apart from this, you should also keep anti virus installed in your phone. This will work to block any virus or malware coming on the phone. This will block access to the phone and you will be able to avoid fraud.
