Rajasthan government has started WhatsApp E-Mitra service. In this, 27 services can be availed through WhatsApp. People will not have to visit offices for 27 services including payment of water and electricity bills. They will be able to avail these services through WhatsApp sitting at home. The government aims to integrate 100 services with WhatsApp.
What is WhatsApp E-Mitra?
This service of Rajasthan Government is an extension of the already running e-Mitra promoting e-governance and digital services. People will now be able to avail 27 services on phone without visiting government offices. People will be able to avail essential services like domicile, caste, birth and death certificate, EWS, ration card etc. from their mobile phones. They will not need to go to government office. Not only this, they will also get information about government schemes through WhatsApp e-Mitra.
How to avail the service?
- To avail the benefits of WhatsApp E-Mitra service, people will have to install WhatsApp on their smartphones.

- After this, WhatsApp e-Mitra chatbot will be activated and will ask you about the services.
- Select the service you want to avail and proceed.
- Rajasthan government has launched this chatbot in two languages, Hindi and English.

This service of the government is completely free, that is, no additional fee or platform fee will be charged for availing the service through e-Mitra. The government can expand this e-Mitra for more services in the coming time. According to the government, WhatsApp e-Mitra is a 24 x 7 chatbot, in which people will be able to avail these 27 services anytime.
How secure is the system?
Rajasthan government has clarified that WhatsApp E-Mitra service is completely safe. In this, people’s information will not be leaked in any way. To avail the service, users will have to do OTP based authentication. Also, API level integration has been done in this chatbot, due to which the data is completely secure and any kind of information will be made available only to the authorized user through OTP.
