In this technology the phone screen can be switched from 2D to 3D or 3D to 2D. According to the report, Samsung can use this dual dimension switchable display in its upcoming Galaxy S28 Ultra.
According to the paper published by Samsung, this 2D-3D switchable display will be based on metasurface lenticular lens. This display has been developed by Samsung in partnership with Postech. This switchable display can be used in upcoming smartphones, tablets and commercial systems. This display will be made of very thin metalens, which will be capable of manipulating the light beam.

How will it work?
The company claims that the metalens used in this 2D-3D switchable display can easily switch between 2D and 3D. The company claims that this technology will also improve the viewing angle of the display. Apart from this, voltage control system will be installed in this technology. Users will be able to use high resolution 2D for their daily tasks and convert it to 3D for movies and entertainment.
Samsung can use this new 2D-3D switchable display in Samsung Galaxy S28 Ultra. This could be the world’s first phone, which will be launched with a display with this new innovative technology. At the same time, Samsung can also use privacy display in the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra.
