Elon Musk has again called WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption feature a joke. While sharing a screenshot of the news related to the lawsuit regarding WhatsApp privacy on Meta through his X handle, Musk said that WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption is completely false. Also, Musk has asked users to use X Chat. Musk has claimed that the messaging and audio/video calling feature of X Chat is completely secure and comes with real privacy.

However, this is not the first time that Elon Musk has made fun of Mark Zuckerberg’s messaging apps. Musk has already many times called the privacy feature of Meta’s social media platforms a joke. Apart from Elon Musk, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has also called the claims of WhatsApp’s privacy feature false and said that users should not trust Meta’s platforms. Their personal communications and chats will not be safe. These may be compromises.

lawsuit against whatsapp

Brian Y. Shirazi and Nida Samson have filed a lawsuit against Meta’s instant messaging platform, saying that the company gives access to private messages to third parties. Apart from this, many other whistleblowers have also claimed that Meta employees and third party platforms have access to people’s private chats. Also, Federal investigators have been informed about this and said that WhatsApp messages should be encrypted and should not be accessed by anyone, but it is not so. Because of this, Meta should face a class action lawsuit.

The class action lawsuit states that WhatsApp secretly accesses people’s messages, photos and videos without the users’ knowledge. Meta and its platform violated federal regulations. Social media platforms have given third party contractors access to user messages. From April 5, 2016 till now, user messages are being shared through third party platforms, which is a big crime. A judicial trial has also been demanded for this.
