The first test match is being played between Pakistan and West Indies in Trinidad. A brilliant performance by the bowlers was seen on the third day of the match. By the end of the second day’s play, Pakistan’s position seemed strong, but on the third day the entire team fell apart like a pack of cards. Pakistan lost its last 7 wickets in just 38 runs and the entire team was all out for 282 runs. With this, West Indies got a lead of 29 runs in the first innings. Shan Masood played an inning of 109 runs in the first innings for Pakistan.
West Indies team has lost 7 wickets in the second innings
Difficulties could have increased for Pakistan, but their bowlers performed well and got the team back in the match. West Indies have scored only 126 runs after losing 7 wickets in their second innings and their total lead is still only 155 runs. Pakistani bowlers did not give the host West Indies any chance to recover and pushed them on the back foot till the end of the third day’s play. Now on the fourth day, the remaining West Indies batsmen will try to take this lead further.
Justin Greaves took five wicket haul
Justin Greaves bowled brilliantly for West Indies and took five wickets in his name. Greaves bowled 5 consecutive maiden overs and took 5 wickets by dismissing one player in each over. He sent 5 batsmen of Pakistan to the pavilion without giving a single run between his 7th over and 11th over. He took 5 wickets for 27 runs with 6 maidens in his 11 overs. Due to this amazing performance of Greaves, Pakistan team could not score big.
Windies had scored 311 runs in the first innings
Earlier, West Indies had scored 311 runs in their first innings. For the team, Shai Hope scored 92 runs and Kavem Hodge scored 84 runs. Apart from these two, no batsman could reach the 30 run mark. In bowling, Pakistan’s Mohammad Ali took 4 wickets, Mohammad Abbas got 3 and Khurram Shahzad got 2 successes, while Aamir Jamal got 1 wicket. Now on the fourth day, Pakistan will try its best to win this match, because it is finding it very difficult for West Indies to make a comeback from here.
