Monsoon is currently in full swing across the country. Between July 28 and August 2, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain on different days in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra and many northeastern states. In some areas, there may be thunderstorms along with strong winds at a speed of 40 to 70 kilometers per hour.

Yellow alert of rain in Delhi-NCR
- There will be dark clouds in the sky in Delhi today. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain or drizzle till afternoon. The maximum temperature may remain around 34 degrees Celsius.
- There is a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Noida and Greater Noida from July 28 to 31 in Noida along with Western UP.
- Ghaziabad may experience intermittent heavy rains with strong winds at a speed of 40 to 70 km/hr from July 28 to 31 and there is a possibility of lightning.
- At the same time, in view of the possibility of waterlogging due to heavy rains in Gurugram, people have been advised to take extra time while travelling.

Weather condition in these states
- In Uttar Pradesh, from July 28 to August 2, an alert of heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorm has been issued in many districts including Meerut, Prayagraj, Agra, Jhansi, Bareilly, Mirzapur.
- Widespread rainfall and heavy rain are forecast in most of the districts of Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Bhagalpur between July 28 and August 2.
- A warning of torrential rain and thunderstorm has been issued in eastern and western Rajasthan including Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur from July 28 to August 2.
- There is a red/orange alert of heavy to very heavy rain from July 28 to August 2 in many districts of Uttarakhand including Dehradun, Nainital, Chamoli and Pithoragarh. There is also a danger of flash floods and landslides at some places.
- A warning of very heavy rain has been issued in Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Chamba of Himachal Pradesh between July 28 and August 2.
- There is a warning of intermittent rain, thunderstorm and lightning in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro of Jharkhand from July 28 to August 2.
- Heavy to very heavy rain, strong winds and lightning are expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir between July 29 and August 2.
