This game has made him a better person and has given him an opportunity to make his mark on the field. His journey so far has been amazing. With this, he has taken a big decision to retire from domestic cricket and IPL. Ashwin said that even though he is saying goodbye to domestic matches and IPL, he is fully prepared for new opportunities and challenges in the future and will continue to play the game with the same old enthusiasm and competition. Murugan Ashwin expressed his gratitude to his IPL teams and said that he wants to thank all the teams for whom he has played in his IPL career.

Murugan Ashwin played for six different teams in his IPL career, including Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants (2016), Royal Challengers Bangalore (2018), Punjab Kings (2019-2021), Mumbai Indians (2022) and Rajasthan Royals (2023).
