Pakistan Cricket Team: Pakistan cricket team is ready to appear on the big stage once again. Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the tri-series and ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in Ireland. In this mega tournament to be held in England and Wales, Pakistan will be eyeing to win the title for the first time.
Pakistan women’s team will play a tri-series in Ireland before the World Cup, in which hosts Ireland and West Indies will also participate. This series will be played in Dublin from 28 May to 4 June and Pakistan will play a total of four matches in this tournament. This tri-series is considered an important part of the preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup for all three teams. The 12-team T20 World Cup will be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
Fatima will captain in the second T20 World Cup
24-year-old Fatima Sana will captain Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time. Earlier, he had also commanded the team in the T20 World Cup played in UAE in 2024. Fatima herself will be seen playing in the Women’s T20 World Cup for the third time. This time many new faces have also got a chance in the Pakistan team. Ayman Fatima, Natalia Parvez, Ramin Shamim, Saira Jabin and Tasmiya Rubab will participate in the Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time.
Recently, Pakistan women’s team performed brilliantly in the T20 series against Zimbabwe in Karachi and made a clean sweep of 3-0. This series gave a good opportunity to the players to test their preparations before the big tournament. Before the World Cup, Pakistan team will also play two warm-up matches. The team will take the field against Sri Lanka on 6th June and Scotland on 9th June. Both matches will be played in derby.
Pakistan’s first match will be against India
Pakistan women’s team will start its World Cup campaign against arch-rivals India on June 14 at the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. After this, the team will face South Africa on the same ground on June 17. Pakistan’s third match will be against Bangladesh on June 20 in Southampton. On June 23, the team will face Australia in Leeds. The Pakistani team will play the last match of the group stage against Netherlands on June 27.
