Pune: PV Kulkarni, who is believed to be the mastermind of the NEET 2026 paper leak case, was arrested from Pune yesterday. After getting transit remand, he will be produced in the CBI court today. Education and work experience
According to the information received, PV Kulkarni was a chemistry teacher in Dayanand College for the last 28 years. He held the post of Chemistry Professor and later Principal there. He retired from the post of principal about four years ago.
During his tenure he was also associated with an organization named DEEPER, which worked in various fields including education. However, his relationship with this organization also ended about two years ago. After retirement, he used to teach chemistry in various coaching classes as a freelancer.
What is NTA connection?
Sources claim that for the last two years, Kulkarni was working as a chemistry expert for the National Testing Agency on contract basis. It is being told that he was among the professors who prepared the Chemistry paper of NEET 2026. The investigating agencies suspect that due to this he had got access to the examination paper.
What is Pune Connection?
The second accused arrested in this case, Manisha, who is a resident of Pune, used to transport students to Dhananjay Lokhande and PV Kulkarni. According to sources, Kulkarni had come to Pune in the last week of April before the NEET exam and took an online class by the name of “Raj Coaching Classes”.
The investigating agencies claim that in this class he had given some mock questions to the students, and the same questions were later seen in the NEET 2026 exam.
What is the family background of PV Kulkarni?
According to the information received, at present no one from Kulkarni’s family has been found. It is being told that his elder son is studying abroad, while no information about his wife and younger son has been received yet.
He has a bungalow in Latur, which was given on rent. The tenants say that they did not have much face-to-face conversation with Kulkarni.
Some neighbors have also alleged that Kulkarni was already doing “420 work”. However, students, coaching class operators, neighbors and tenants are avoiding speaking openly on this matter because they fear further action. At present, the investigation of the case is going on and the agencies are investigating the entire paper leak network.
