Rana has been found guilty of violating Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct made for players. Rana violated Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with the use of indecent or offensive language during a match. The incident occurred in the 19th over of the innings, when Rana was seen having a long argument with the fourth umpire.
Rana admitted his mistake
According to the report, Nitish Rana has accepted his mistake and has also accepted the punishment given by the match referee. After this entire incident, it has become clear that strictness is being maintained regarding discipline in IPL and the behavior of the players on the field is being closely monitored. Delhi Capitals will now face RCB on April 18.
Apart from Nitish Rana, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been fined. This fine has been imposed on his team due to slow over rate. Since this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with offenses related to minimum over-rate, Gaikwad was fined Rs 12 lakh.
