Consideration is also given to giving compensation to the families of students who have committed suicide.

The PM said in this message that the government is going to present the draft of a very stringent law in the cabinet meeting today. After approval from the Cabinet, efforts will be made to get it passed in the Parliament next week. It is clear from PM Modi’s message that the new law is going to be very strict.
Sonam Wangchuk ends her hunger strike
It is noteworthy that after this video message of PM Modi, Sonam Wangchuk, admitted in Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, has ended her hunger strike. Sonam Wangchuk was on hunger strike since June 28. Sonam Wangchuk ended her fast in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. The central government has assured Wangchuk that no action will be taken against students protesting peacefully. Also, the government will seriously consider all the demands of Sonam.
