5 Min Read

The case of alleged theft and misappropriation of offerings in the Ram temple of Ayodhya is no longer limited to just criminal investigation, but it is also raising serious questions on the faith of crores of devotees, the accountability of the trust and the transparency of the temple management.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam and Manoj Kumar Singh were present as guests in the discussion along with the show’s anchor Peenaz Tyagi and India TV’s political editor Devendra Parashar.

Resignation of some people is not enough for fair investigation

During the discussion, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that the alleged theft in Ram temple cannot be seen as a normal economic crime. According to him, this is a matter related to the faith of crores of people, hence the resignation of only a few people will not be enough for its fair investigation. He demanded that all the officials of the Trust should take moral responsibility and step down from their posts, so that the investigation can be conducted in a completely impartial manner.

If senior officials are guilty then action should be taken against them also

Political analyst Manoj Kumar Singh also admitted that if strict action was taken by registering an FIR at the initial stage itself and transparency was shown, then the controversy would not have become so big. He said that the investigating agencies should get to the bottom of the entire matter without any pressure and if negligence of any senior official comes to light then action should be taken against them also.

Transparency should be adopted in counting of offerings

During the debate, questions were also raised on the temple management system. Speakers said that in big temples like Mata Vaishno Devi and Tirupati, a strict and transparent system is in place for counting and security of offerings. He was of the opinion that the same level of professional administrative structure should be developed in Ram temple also, so that the possibility of such incidents in future can be eliminated.

Top priority should be given to the faith of devotees

It was also said in the discussion that instead of looking at this matter from a political perspective, the faith of the devotees should be given top priority. Speakers said that no matter what the level of the culprit, action should be taken against him as per law. It was also made clear that the impact of the alleged irregularities in the temple does not raise questions on reverence for Lord Ram, but on systemic flaws.

SIT investigation should be transparent and impartial

At the end of the program, all the speakers emphasized that the SIT investigation should be fair and transparent and strict legal action should be taken against the culprits. He believed that this will not only strengthen the faith of the devotees, but will also make the Ram Temple system more accountable and transparent for the future.
