India warned
In response to media queries regarding the inappropriate mention of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement by China and Pakistan, Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “India categorically rejects the inappropriate mention of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement by China and Pakistan. India’s position is consistent and well known to the parties concerned. The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been, are and will always be an integral and inseparable part of India. Other countries have no right to comment on this.
India’s statement to China and Pakistan
With regard to the so-called China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, some of which are in India’s sovereign territory, we strongly oppose and reject any attempts by other countries to strengthen or legitimize Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation of these territories, which violates India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This has been clearly conveyed to Pakistani and Chinese officials many times.
We have also seen references to so-called ‘transboundary water resources’. Regarding cooperation between China and Pakistan, since the two countries share no border, the question of so-called ‘cross-border water resources cooperation’ does not arise. India has never recognized the so-called 1963 border agreement between Pakistan and China.
