Terrorist attack alert has been issued on completion of one year of Operation Sindoor. The investigating agencies have received specific inputs that terrorists can target many other important places including the BJP headquarters. According to sources, investigating agencies have received an alert of a terrorist attack on the BJP headquarters located on Delhi DDU Marg. Along with this, blast alert has also been received in nearby government offices.

New Delhi District Police has increased the security of BJP headquarters and surrounding buildings. The number of local police and paramilitary forces has been increased. On completion of one year of Operation Sindoor, recently input has been received from central agencies that Pakistan can target religious places, BJP headquarters and government buildings in nearby Delhi.

After the recent attack outside BSF in Punjab, Amritsar and Jalandhar incidents, specific input agencies have given to Delhi Police. After this, security has been increased, there are alerts of attacks like suicide bombing, blast from car, blast from ID.

Delhi Police and other security agencies have increased surveillance at sensitive places. Security at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg and nearby government establishments has been beefed up, with additional deployment of armed personnel, barricades installed and thorough searches of vehicles. According to sources, security agencies have received warnings regarding possible attempts to target key offices and crowded areas through suicide attacks, vehicle-based improvised explosive device (IED) blasts, firing and coordinated attacks in Central Delhi.

Bomb disposal squad instructed to remain alert

Sources said quick response teams including bomb disposal squad, dog squad and Delhi Fire Service have also been asked to remain alert. A source said, “Police have been instructed to keep a close watch on suspicious activities, abandoned objects and parked vehicles in sensitive areas.” He said that security arrangements have also been strengthened in areas considered sensitive from law and order point of view. The local police is conducting surprise check and verification operations. The source said that all district units have been instructed to remain alert and maintain coordination with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces. He said that senior officials are constantly monitoring the situation and reviewing the security arrangements in the entire city.
