47 Maoists laid down their arms and surrendered with heavy ammunition, DGP told what was recovered?

Telangana Maoist Surrender: Police has achieved great success against Maoism in Telangana. Telangana DGP B. Shivdhar Reddy said that today (Saturday) 47 Maoist cadres surrendered. All these Maoists were associated with Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, 9th and 30th Platoon of South Bastar Regional Committee and People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA).

Surrender of Maoists of different levels

Those who surrendered include members from different levels of the organization. These include one state committee member, 3 division committee members, 24 area committee members and 19 party members. Surrender of such a large number of Maoists together is being considered a big success for the security agencies.

Which weapons were handed over by the Maoists?

According to the DGP, while surrendering, these Maoists also handed over arms and ammunition to the police. These include four AK-47 rifles, three SLRs, one light machine gun (LMG), two INSAS rifles, two 410 muskets, one 9 mm pistol and one .35 mm weapon. In total, the Maoists have handed over 32 weapons, 26 magazines, 515 rounds of cartridges and 10 bundles of Cardex wire to the police.

Maoists want to return to the mainstream

Telangana DGP says that this surrender of Maoists is the result of the rehabilitation policy of the government and continuous operations. Due to pressure from security forces and development work, Maoists are now deciding to return to the mainstream of society. DGP B. Shivdhar Reddy said that now peace and law and order has strengthened in Telangana.

No Maoism in Telangana

DGP said that there is no Maoist movement in Telangana. Those who are still active in the forests are being given an opportunity to surrender and return to the mainstream. With this he will be able to live a normal life again.
