Kolathur seat has again become the center of high-profile contest in the wake of Tamilnadu Assembly Elections. From here, Chief Minister MK Stalin himself has contested the elections on behalf of DMK. He is contesting against AIADMK candidate P. Santhana Krishnan, TVK candidate VS Babu and NTK’s Soundara Pandian Louther Seth. This election contest between the four main candidates has become interesting and multi-angled.
Kolathur is a strong fort of DMK
Let us tell you that Kolathur assembly seat is considered a strong fort of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam i.e. DMK, from where M.K. Stalin is continuously winning. Being the Chief Minister himself, his personal image and development work strengthen his case in this assembly elections. DMK is expected to benefit from improvement in infrastructure and basic facilities at the local level.
AIADMK trying to take advantage of anti-incumbency
At the same time, this time P. Santhana Krishnan is presenting a tough challenge from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam i.e. AIADMK. AIADMK is now working on a strategy to take advantage of anti-incumbency and tap the traditional vote bank.
TVK and NTK are also gaining strength
Apart from this, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam i.e. TVK’s V.S. Babu and Naam Tamizhar Katchi i.e. Soundara Pandian Louther Seth of NTK are also in the fray, trying to attract youth and new voters. The presence of these two political parties is making the electoral contest a four-cornered one, due to which scattering of votes is possible.
Overall, the main contest on Kolathur seat is believed to be between AIADMK and DMK, but the entry of NTK and TVK has made the political equations more complicated. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see who the public elects as their MLA on this high profile assembly seat.
