Actor Rohit Chandel accused of molesting a 16 year old minor, case registered under POCSO, accused arrested

Surprising news has come out about famous television actor Rohit Chandel, who is currently seen in the TV serial ‘Sairab’. According to police information, the actor has been arrested for stalking, repeatedly calling, harassing and assaulting a 16-year-old girl in the eastern suburbs. Police have registered a case against the actor under the ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses’ (POCSO) Act. The police is investigating this matter rapidly.

29 year old actor Rohit Chandel played the role of Bajirao in ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’ and Dhaval Makwana in ‘Pandya Store’. Apart from the strict POCSO Act, Pant Nagar police have also imposed sections 78 and 115 (2) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) for stalking and causing hurt. On the basis of all these sections the police have arrested him.

Serious allegations against Rohit Chandel

Rohit Chandel was arrested from his house in Dahisar on Friday and produced in the special POCSO court, from where he was sent to police custody. According to the complaint by a man living in the eastern suburbs, the accused allegedly harassed the minor girl by calling her repeatedly from his own and several other numbers. The complaint also alleges that on July 5, he stopped the girl near her residential building and followed her. Later he quarreled with her, abused her and assaulted her.

Rohit Chandel stuck in legal trouble

Police said that the minor and the accused knew each other. Giving further information about this, an officer said, ‘After receiving the complaint, a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
