Rahul completed his century in just 47 balls and scored the fastest century for Delhi Capitals in IPL. He also broke the records of Virender Sehwag and Quinton de Kock for centuries scored in 48 balls in 2011 and 2016 respectively. This was the fastest of KL’s six IPL centuries. Earlier, he had scored the fastest century in 56 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2022. KL is the third batsman to score 150 runs in an IPL innings, after Chris Gayle (175 runs against Pune Warriors India in 2013) and Brendon McCullum (158 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008). He also holds the record for the highest score by an Indian batsman in the IPL, surpassing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star Abhishek Sharma’s record of 141 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS) last year.
