Major auto companies of the country have released their sales figures for June 2026. This time many companies registered excellent growth, while some companies also had to face challenges. Maruti Suzuki once again won in terms of sales, while Tata Motors and Mahindra also performed strongly. On the other hand, Hyundai’s sales were affected by the fire at the supplier plant.
Maruti Suzuki remained number-1
Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 2,00,390 vehicles in June 2026, which is 19.3% more than last year. The company’s domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,47,187 units. The company saw a good increase in demand for SUVs and compact cars, which boosted sales.
Mahindra showed great speed
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded total sales of 1,06,207 vehicles in June, a growth of 37% year-on-year. The company’s SUV sales in the domestic market stood at 60,393 units. Apart from this, there was a good increase in the sales of light commercial vehicles also.
Tremendous jump in Tata Motors sales
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sold a total of 63,083 units in June 2026. This is a huge increase of 69% compared to last year. The company sold 62,076 vehicles in the domestic market. Sales of electric vehicles more than doubled to 14,800 units, further strengthening the company’s hold in the EV segment.
Impact of production on Hyundai’s sales
Hyundai Motor India sold a total of 51,335 vehicles in June. This includes 39,635 domestic and 11,700 export units. The company said production of about 13,900 vehicles was affected due to a fire at a supplier’s plant. However, the company has started the process of normalizing production by arranging for alternative supply.
Toyota also registered growth
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold total 31,016 vehicles in June, up 7% from last year. Domestic sales stood at 28,441 units, while 2,575 vehicles were exported.
Which company won?
If we talk about total sales, Maruti Suzuki remained at the forefront in June 2026. This was followed by Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai and Toyota. June figures show that demand in the Indian auto market remains strong.
