Gold and Silver Price: There has been tremendous fluctuation in the prices of gold and silver in the country since last week. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to stop the purchase of gold, the government imposed heavy import duty on the import of gold and silver. After this decision of the government, a sharp rise was seen in the prices of gold and silver. However, the very next day there was a huge fall in the prices of these precious metals. On Monday, May 18, there was a lot of up-and-down in the prices of gold and silver on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Strong fluctuations in gold and silver prices
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) around 10.24 am, gold for delivery on June 5 was trading at Rs 1,58,561 per 10 grams with a marginal rise of 0.01 per cent (Rs 14). Whereas, silver prices for delivery on July 3 were trading at Rs 2,70,800 per kg, down by 0.40 percent (Rs 1086). Let us tell you that on Monday, gold for delivery on June 5 opened with a decline at the rate of Rs 1,58,076 per 10 grams, which had closed at the rate of Rs 1,58,547 per 10 grams on Friday last week. During trading today, gold prices have ranged from an intraday high of Rs 1,58,850 per 10 grams to Rs 1,57,547 per 10 grams.
Silver became cheaper by 7.3 percent in the bullion market on Friday
Apart from gold, today the price of silver for delivery on July 3 opened with a big fall at Rs 2,67,400 per kg, which had closed at Rs 2,71,886 on Friday last week. During trading today, the price of silver had ranged from an intraday high of Rs 2,74,145 per kg to an intraday low of Rs 2,64,949 per kg. Let us tell you that on Friday last week, the price of 99.9 percent gold fell by Rs 3,200 (1.93 percent) in Delhi’s bullion market and closed at Rs 1,62,000 per 10 grams. Whereas, the price of silver fell by Rs 21,600 (7.3 percent) and closed at Rs 2,75,000 per kg.
