The first ODI match between India and West Indies will be played on 27 September in Thiruvananthapuram. Before this match, there is a question in everyone’s mind that whether Yashasvi Jaiswal will get a chance to play in this match. Meanwhile, Team India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has given a big statement about this left-handed batsman. He told why Jaiswal is not getting a chance in ODI cricket right now. Sitanshu also told that Jaiswal will have to wait for the opportunity.

What did Sitanshu Kotak say about Yashasvi Jaiswal?

Quoting news agency PTI, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, while talking to journalists just a day before the first ODI, said that there is a tough competition among the players to get a place in the team and many players are in excellent form. He told that Yashasvi Jaiswal is a very talented batsman and whenever he has got a chance to play, he has proved himself. This is the reason why he remains a part of the Indian team.

The batting coach further said that as a support staff, he is working on improving Yashasvi’s game, practice and thinking, and head coach Gautam Gambhir also keeps discussing with him regularly. Giving an example, he explained that sometimes the circumstances become such that even if there are three very good wicketkeepers in the team, still only one gets a place in the playing-11.

This statement of Kotak clearly indicates that Yashasvi Jaiswal will have to be a little more patient to get a chance to play continuously in the ODI team. He said that there is no injustice or discrimination being done to Jaiswal, rather he should continue to work hard and wait for his turn. Whenever he has got a chance to play, he has shown excellent performance every time.

Sitanshu Kotak also gave update on Shubman Gill’s injury.

Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has given a big update on the fitness of Indian captain Shubman Gill. He told that Gill is completely fit and ready to play in the match to be held on September 27. During practice, a ball from Mohammed Siraj hit Gill’s right elbow, but according to Kotak, there is no need to panic. On Saturday, Gill did not come to the field for net practice as it was an optional practice session.
