Hasaranga will return to Sri Lanka

Actually, Hasaranga was practicing before the first ODI when he felt some trouble. After this, the team management decided to give him rest instead of fielding him in the match. However, considering his condition, he has now been declared unavailable for the rest of the series. Hasaranga will now return to Sri Lanka from England, where he will begin a rehabilitation program to recover from his injury. This is a big blow for the Sri Lankan team, because along with bowling, Hasaranga can also make an important contribution in batting in the lower order.

Hasranga has been out earlier also due to injury

Being out of the field due to injury is not a new thing for Wanindu Hasaranga. Even before this, injuries have affected many of his important tournaments. Before the 2023 ODI World Cup, he suffered a hamstring injury, due to which he could not participate in the tournament. Hasaranga also faced hamstring problems in the 2026 T20 World Cup. He could not play the remaining matches of the tournament after getting injured in Sri Lanka’s opening match against Ireland. Now, during the England tour, the problem of lower back pain has increased his problems. The Sri Lankan team will have to prepare a strategy without Hasaranga in the remaining matches of the ODI series. At the same time, Hasaranga’s priority will now be to return to the field after being fully fit.
