Seven years later, Rubel Hussain took 6 wickets for 26 runs in 5.5 overs against New Zealand, but Mortaza’s record remained intact for 20 years.

Earlier this record was in the name of Fidel Edwards of West Indies, who took 6 wickets for 22 runs against Zimbabwe in 2003. Rana’s 6 wickets is the third best bowling performance in ODI matches against Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas is at the first position in this list, who took 8 wickets for 19 runs in 2001. In the year 2025, Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka also took seven wickets for 19 runs against Zimbabwe in Colombo.
