The Congress party, which is contesting the elections along with DMK in Tamil Nadu, has said to support actor Vijay’s party TVK which has the highest number of MLAs in the state. Let us tell you that in the Tamil Nadu Assembly of 234 members, the majority figure is 118. TVK has got 108 seats. On the other hand, DMK is furious over Congress’s decision to support TVK to form the government.

DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai said, “Congress extended its support to TVK so we called it a betrayal. Even before the returning officers signed the victory certificate, Congress changed its stance and supported TVK. They claim they want to keep BJP and RSS away, which is why they took this decision. Importantly, TVK chief Vijay never spoke against the BJP or the RSS. Even after the elections, when TVK got positive results, He did not thank the voters or the party workers; his first tweet was to thank Prime Minister Modi. People understand where TVK’s priorities are and Congress is telling us that they have to keep BJP-RSS away… We have done this, we have succeeded in keeping BJP-RSS away from power here… Congress has taken this decision and will regret it… This decision has made them a very unstable ally.”

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said on Congress’ decision to support TVK, “There is no family who has not been cheated by Congress. Congress is a deceitful party and Congress has looted every regional party for its vote bank. RJD in Bihar, Uddhav Sena in Maharashtra, used NCP-SCP. So today when the work is over with DMK, they got seats, now they are going with TVK chief Vijay and there they will have 1 minute to break the INDI alliance. I don’t think so… Overall, the Congress Party is like a parasite…”
