New Delhi: Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is protesting near the Prime Minister’s residence along with Congress leaders. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders are adamant on the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Minister of State Jitendra Singh reached the Prime Minister’s Office to pacify the protesting Congress leaders. Jitendra Singh was seen talking to Rahul Gandhi for a while. Jitendra Singh appealed to the Congress leaders to protest. However, Rahul Gandhi did not listen to Jitendra Singh and the protest is still going on.
An offer was made to the Congress by the Central Government that the government is ready to discuss this issue on Wednesday, but the Congress is demanding the resignation of the Education Minister and action against the culprits of lathi charge on the students. According to the information, Congress has demanded from the Central Government that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign immediately and the Home Minister should give a statement in both the houses. Sources said that after meeting Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Jitendra Singh informed senior BJP leaders about the dharna being organized by Congressmen.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was also present in the protest. Later the police took Kharge in the car. Detained Congress MP K. Suresh said from inside the bus, “Our students were attacked very brutally. Honorable PM is not saying anything, Home Minister Amit Shah is not saying anything, that is why Congress MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses are protesting.”
