In a tragic accident at Goa’s famous tourist destination Baga Beach, a 33-year-old tourist from Bijapur, Karnataka died due to drowning in the sea. After this incident, there was panic among the people present on the beach, while the administration has once again appealed to take special caution on the beaches during monsoon.

Came to visit Goa with friends

According to the information, the deceased tourist had come to visit Goa with some of his friends. It is being told that he was sitting on a rock situated on the sea shore at Baga Beach and watching the sea view. Meanwhile, due to monsoon, high and strong waves were rising in the sea. Suddenly a big wave came and swept him away from the rock straight into the sea.

Couldn’t control myself amidst the strong waves of the sea

According to eyewitnesses, the tourist tried hard to save himself after falling into the sea. For some time he kept trying to escape amidst the surging waves and strong currents, but the current of the sea was so strong that he could not control himself. Within no time he went into deep water and disappeared from people’s sight.

Dead body recovered after several hours of effort

As soon as information about the incident was received, local police, lifeguards and rescue teams reached the spot. Rescue workers immediately started the search operation and searched for him in the sea. After a long operation, the body of the tourist was recovered from the sea. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the police have started further legal process. Besides, the relatives of the deceased have also been informed about the incident.

The administration made a special appeal to the people

Officials say that during the monsoon season, the waves on Goa’s beaches become more dangerous than during normal days. After this accident, the administration has appealed to tourists and local people to be extra cautious on the beaches during monsoon, follow warning signs and stay away from high waves, rocks and restricted areas.
