New Delhi: It may rain in many states of the country including Bihar-Jharkhand today i.e. on Wednesday. The weather department has predicted further advance of southwest monsoon into parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. Also, the department has warned about the possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim this week.

There will be heavy rain till June 20

The Meteorological Department said that there may be heavy rain in some areas of Bihar between June 17 and 20. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between June 17 and 22. Forecasting heavy rains in Assam and Meghalaya till June 22, the Meteorological Department said, “There may be isolated heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh between June 18 and 22. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between June 18 and 20. During this period, strong winds may also blow at these places.

Current weather conditions suggest that a new Western Disturbance will bring light to moderate rain over the western Himalayan region and isolated thunderstorms over the plains of northwest India during 18 to 22 June 2026.

Possibility of dust storm in Rajasthan

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan today amid the possibility of rain and dust storm. The weather department has also issued an orange warning for parts of West Bengal and Sikkim as heavy rain is expected in these areas on June 17. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from 17 to 18 June.

Heat wave warning

The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a high possibility of heat wave (heat wave) in Chhattisgarh, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Vidarbha and Western Uttar Pradesh on June 17. Apart from this, hot and humid weather conditions may persist in Ganga plains of West Bengal, Odisha, Goa and coastal Andhra Pradesh till June 20.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky in the capital on Wednesday. There may be light rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon. The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be between 33°C to 35°C, while the minimum temperature will be between 26°C to 28°C.
