BK Hariprasad replaces DK Shivakumar, becomes the new President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee

BK Hariprasad KPCC President: With the change of power in Karnataka, a major change was also seen in the organization of the Congress Party. Actually, senior leader BK Hariprasad has been appointed by the All India Congress Committee as the new president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee i.e. KPCC. With this, BK Hariprasad has replaced DK Shivakumar, who took oath as the CM of Karnataka today (Wednesday). This decision of the Congress leadership is being seen as a strategy for good coordination between the party organization and the government in Karnataka.

Congress bets on experienced leader BK Hariprasad

BK Hariprasad is counted among the experienced leaders of Congress and he has been playing an important role in the party organization for a long time. BK Hariprasad has also represented Karnataka in the Rajya Sabha and has also performed many important responsibilities for the Congress Party at the national level. BK Hariprasad has worked as in-charge of Congress in many states including Haryana. For this reason BK Hariprasad has good experience in organizational matters.

BK Hariprasad has been a candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman.

You can also understand the political stature of BK Hariprasad from the fact that in the year 2018, the opposition had jointly made him their candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. However, BK Hariprasad could not win the election. At present, the responsibility of strengthening the leadership and organization of Karnataka Congress has been entrusted to BK Hariprasad.

12 ministers took oath along with DK in Karnataka

It is noteworthy that a new government has been formed in Karnataka today itself. DK Shivakumar has become the Chief Minister in place of Siddaramaiah. G., close to Siddaramaiah. Parameshwara has been made the Deputy Chief Minister. In Karnataka, 12 ministers have also taken oath along with CM DK Shivakumar. Siddaramaiah’s son Yatindra Siddaramaiah has also got a place in the cabinet. Apart from Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, Congress Chief Ministers of Kerala, Himachal and Telangana also attended the swearing-in ceremony.

DK Shivakumar left the post of KPCC president

After becoming the Chief Minister, DK Shivkumar has left the post of State President. In his place, BK Hariprasad has been made the President of Karnataka Congress. After taking oath, DK Shivakumar first announced free travel for students in government buses. Till now, only female students were allowed to travel for free in Karnataka State Transport buses.
