New Delhi: The Central Government has decided to increase the posts in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on a large scale. In the order issued by the Revenue Department of the Finance Ministry, new recruitments and posts have been approved in different departments of ED. According to the order, the biggest increase has been made in the investigation department of ED. The post of Additional Director has been increased from 10 to 24.
Now there will be so many officers in ED
Along with this, the posts of Joint Director have been increased from 28 to 49, Deputy Director from 148 to 267, Assistant Director from 255 to 531. At the same time, the posts of Enforcement Officer have been increased from 355 to 606 and the posts of Assistant Enforcement Officer have been increased from 425 to 803. Apart from this, the number of big posts like Joint Director, Deputy Director and Additional Director has also been increased. New posts have also been added in the legal department so that hearing of cases and legal work can be done faster.
Posts will increase in legal cadre also
In the order, approval has also been given to create many new posts in Adjudication Wing, System Department, Ministerial Staff and Security Department. The posts of senior constable in the security department have been increased from 209 to 273. The government says that this decision has been taken in view of the increasing cases and investigation work. With the creation of new posts, the investigative capacity of ED will be strengthened and investigation of cases will speed up.
In the legal cadre, the number of Additional Directors (Prosecution) has been increased from one to seven. Deputy legal advisors will increase from seven to 18, while assistant legal advisors will increase from 18 to 36. There will also be expansion in the Adjudication Wing, in which new posts will be created. The posts of Additional Director (Adjudication) will increase from zero to two, Joint Director from zero to three, Deputy Director from zero to five and Assistant Director from zero to ten, while the post of Special Director (Adjudication) will remain unchanged at one.
Money laundering investigation will speed up
This step of the government to increase the number of ED employees is very important in view of the increasing cases of investigation of financial crimes and money laundering. With more staff, the agency can reduce delays in investigations and trials, leading to faster filing of prosecution complaints or chargesheets and faster progress in high-profile cases.
