The Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange’ and ‘Yellow’ alert of rain. According to the department, there will be a drop in temperature due to rain in Delhi-NCR from May 5 to May 9 till May 9, while heavy rain is expected in the North-West and North-Eastern states. So there is a possibility of storm in eastern India. IMD has warned of major changes in the weather in the next five days.

How will be the weather of Delhi?

There has been a warning of a severe storm in Delhi on May 5, in which the wind speed can reach 70 km per hour. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in many areas. However, the temperature is expected to rise again between May 6 and 9. There may be heavy rain with strong thunderstorm in Delhi till Tuesday.

Rain and snowfall alert in mountains

Widespread rain and snowfall is likely in the hilly states of northwest India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the first week of May. Between May 5-6, there may be rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and winds with a speed of 30-50 km per hour. Traffic on Mughal Road has been closed due to snowfall and slippage in many areas. Rain and snowfall are likely to continue in Uttarakhand between May 5 and 8, with heavy rain and hailstorm expected in some parts.

How will the weather be in other states of the country?

• There is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh till May 6. Storm and hailstorm with speed up to 70 km per hour is expected in these states on May 5.
• Stormy activities will continue in Uttar Pradesh between May 5 and 7. There is a possibility of a storm with a speed of 70 km per hour in eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 5. Heavy rain and hail may occur in different areas of Uttar Pradesh.
• There is a possibility of dust storm in Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain may occur over Western Rajasthan between May 5-7 and Eastern Rajasthan between May 5-8 and winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph. There is a possibility of hailstorm in East Rajasthan.
• The weather will remain changed in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from 5 to 6 May. Heavy rain alert has been issued in Arunachal Pradesh on May 5.
• Thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha throughout this week.
• There is a possibility of storm and heavy rain in Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between 5 and 6 May. So, there may be severe storm and heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal on 5th May.
• There is a possibility of a storm with a speed of up to 70 km per hour in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha on May 5. There is a hail alert in Jharkhand and Odisha on May 5 and there may be heavy rain in Bihar and Odisha on May 5 and 6.
• Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha are likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds during the next five days. On May 5, there has been a warning of a storm with a speed of 70 kilometers per hour and hailstorm.
