Drain the water from chana dal and put it in a mixer jar. Add half teaspoon fennel, 3-4 cloves of garlic, 1 inch piece of ginger, 1-2 green chillies and grind it finely. You can use one-fourth cup of water while grinding lentils. This will grind the pulses easily.

Second step- Now take out the ground chana dal in a bowl. Now add 2-3 tablespoons of fine semolina and mix both the things. Now add one-fourth teaspoon black pepper powder, one-fourth teaspoon celery, half teaspoon coriander powder, one-fourth teaspoon turmeric powder, one-fourth teaspoon garam masala powder, few chili flakes, half teaspoon chaat masala, salt as per taste, one teaspoon Kasoori fenugreek and mix everything.

Third step- Take 2 spoons of oil in a pan and heat it lightly. Add asafoetida in oil and add it to the dal mixture. Now add finely chopped coriander to it. Now you have to add wheat flour according to the pulses. Mix pulses and flour and knead a dough like puri. Apply light oil on the dough and let it set for 5 minutes.

Fourth step- Now add oil for frying in the pan and heat it. Make puris from the prepared dough. Keep it slightly thicker than normal puri and deep fry it in oil. If you don’t want to make puris, you can also make parathas with this flour and eat them. Delicious protein-rich parathas are a good option for children.
